ANKYLOS® Surgical
Instruments
General Surgical Instruments
The instruments of the ANKYLOS implant system are precisely
adjusted to fulfill the preconditions for atraumatic and congruent
preparation of the implant site. The preparation is comprised of
two stages.
Machine Driven Preparation
The direction and depth of the implant site is determined by using
the machine-driven instruments with internal irrigation. For this
purpose, the drills feature ring markings for depth calibration.
During this step, the maximum speed of 800 rpm should not be
exceeded, in order to prevent the possible overheating of the
bone.
Manual Preparation
The final implant site is prepared in two manual preparation steps.
The instruments, the conical Reamer and the Tap, are driven by the
reversible Ratchet. The arrow on the reversing knob of the Ratchet
points to the rotation direction. The instruments are connected to
the Ratchet via the Ratchet Inserts. Due to the non-cutting tip,
drilling deeper is not possible with both instruments. The tap of
the Open End Wrench serves as a guide in order to avoid tilting of
the instruments
